About the Position

We are now looking for a digital communicator with a particular focus on graphic design for a government agency in Uppsala. In this role, you will work both as a graphic designer and as a web editor with simpler editorial tasks.

As a graphic designer, you are the agency's expert in design and layout. You are responsible for developing visual concepts and producing materials for both digital and physical channels, such as:

  • Posters
  • Roll-ups and exhibition materials
  • Newspaper ads
  • Web banners and digital campaign materials

You will work both independently and in teams and act as advisory support on matters concerning the agency's graphic profile and visual expression.

As a web editor, you will handle simpler editorial tasks, such as:

  • Monitoring, responding to, and following up on issues for the web editorial team
  • Working with publishing content on our external website and intranet
  • Supporting the organization in developing web-optimized texts.

You will be part of an editorial team and collaborate closely with colleagues within the communications function. Collaboration also extends to the rest of the organization.

Assignment Period and Scope:

The position is a full-time consultancy role starting in mid-February or early March and is expected to last until 2026-08-31 to cover for the parental leave of regular employees. There is a possibility of an extension of 3 months thereafter.

The position is located at the agency's office in Uppsala.

Requirements for the Position:

  • Post-secondary education in graphic design, digital communication, or other equivalent education
  • At least five (5) years of experience in similar work
  • Experience as a client and requirement setter towards external suppliers, such as designers and communication agencies.
  • Experience in producing physical/analog communication units, such as posters, exhibition materials, and magazines.
  • Experience in web publishing, search engine optimization, and CMS tools
  • Documented strong skills in written Swedish – with a sense for tone and language.
  • Good knowledge of digital communication and social media
  • Experience in producing digital materials in relevant production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of image law, such as GDPR and copyright.
  • Basic knowledge of the Accessibility Act for digital public services and plain language
  • Good knowledge of MS Office or equivalent

To succeed in this role, you are driven and structured and used to working towards deadlines. You have a good sense of graphic form and enjoy working both in teams and independently.

You like to guide others, have an easy time collaborating, and keep yourself updated on trends and developments in digital communication.
